Nominated for Best Female at the Ontario Independent Music Awards, sixteen year old Elyse Simpson's mix of virile vocals and emotive lyrics create a roaring and juxtaposed style of folk fusion.
With prominent influence from artists Tom Waits, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sufjan Stevens and a classical up bringing, Elyse sparks her music through an eclectic background.
16 year old Oakville Trafalgar Grade twelve student Russell Horton manipulates earthy warm vocals, unquestioning guitar rhythms and addictive lyrical phrases to build a dimensional modern tone.
With a background in guitar, harmonica and piano, Russell develops a sense multifaceted familiarity. Belting lines such as "I'd take you in the palm of my hand but, you live in wonderland" express emotional yearning beyond his years that reflects outwardly onto his audience.
Russell Horton is as
vintage
as you can get at 16.
Merging classic structures, new age sounds and base influences ranging from Paul Simon to Death Cab for Cutie with a genuine curiosity for human relations, Russells altruistic songwriting and determination bleed through to create
a seamless blend.
